Services / Managed WordPress Platform

VOYAGER · SVC · 01 · FIRST SHIP · WITHIN 30 DAYS

SVC · 05 · PLATFORM

The layer everything else runs on.

Platform, security, maintenance, monitoring and support hours, operated as one thing by the people who built your site. It sits underneath every Voyager retainer by default, and it is available on its own. Updates are tested before they land, security is handled before it’s news, and monitoring reaches a person rather than a ticket queue — so the site stops being something you carry around in your head.

02

What this is

Not a hosting reseller. An infrastructure practice.

Most “managed” WordPress hosting is a reseller account with a ticket queue in front of it. Something breaks, you file a ticket, a stranger who has never seen your site before reads a runbook at you. The hosting is managed; your site is not.

We operate your site the way we operate our own infrastructure. Monitoring workflows we built and refine watch it continuously; a senior operator who knows your site — its plugins, its traffic shape, its history — handles everything the workflows surface. Updates are tested before they touch production. Backups are verified, not assumed. When something needs a decision, the person deciding has context.

This is also the floor the rest of the work stands on. An SEO retainer on a site that goes down loses the rankings it just earned; a content system publishing onto slow infrastructure is filling a bucket with a hole in it. That is why the platform is included underneath every Voyager retainer rather than sold alongside one — and why we will not take on a growth engagement while the thing it runs on is somebody else’s problem.

Who it’s for: service businesses whose site is their storefront — where downtime, slowness, or a hacked homepage costs real revenue and real trust. Who it’s not for: hobby sites, holding pages, or anyone whose site could be down for a week before someone noticed. This is the cheapest insurance a revenue-bearing site can buy, and still too much for a site that doesn’t bear revenue. Pricing is at the bottom of this page.

04

How it runs

Migration is the event. Everything after is quiet.

The first month does the loud work — migration, hardening, baseline. Steady state is the service working correctly: a monthly report you actually read and a site you no longer think about.

01

Audit + migration plan

We inventory your current setup — host, plugins, traffic, integrations, the things previous developers left behind — and write the migration plan. You approve it before anything moves.

WEEK 1

02

Migration + hardening

Zero-downtime cutover, security hardening pass, monitoring stood up, backups verified with a tested restore. First ship lands inside 30 days: your site, on managed infrastructure, measurably faster or we tell you why not.

WEEKS 2–4

03

Steady state

Updates on schedule, monitoring continuous, monthly report in your inbox. You hear from us when something needs a decision and on the first of the month. Otherwise: quiet.

• MONTH 2+

04

Exit, any time

It’s your site, your domain, your content, and the infrastructure is documented. If you leave, we hand over access and the runbook. No hostage negotiation; portability is structural, not contractual.

ANY TIME

05

What it costs

From $90 a month. No decoder ring.

Hosting pricing pages are usually a matrix designed to make you buy the column you don’t need. Here is the whole thing, support hours included rather than sold back to you as a second line. If you are on a Voyager retainer, the standard platform is already included — you are not being billed this twice.

Platform — standard

$90/mo · or $972/yr

  • Migration and zero-downtime cutover
  • Tested updates: core, themes, plugins, PHP
  • Security hardening + continuous scanning
  • 24/7 monitoring with senior-operator response
  • Verified daily backups
  • Support and maintenance hours — included, not an add-on
  • Monthly infrastructure report

Best for: service businesses whose site is their storefront and who are done being their own webmaster.

Same platform, different shape of site

eCommerce

$250/mo

Or $2,700/yr. Checkout paths, payment plugins and order data change the failure modes, so they change the operating load.

Non-profit

$45/mo

The standard platform at half price for registered non-profits. Same monitoring, same backups, same operator.

Entry

$75/mo

A smaller brochure site with a simple plugin set. If yours qualifies we will say so on the call rather than sell you the tier above it.

06

Common questions

Answered honestly.

What does “managed” actually cover?

Everything in the deliverables list above — migration, tested updates, security, monitoring, backups, reporting. What it doesn’t cover: content changes, design work, or new features. Those are either a Content System engagement or a Custom Web Build, and we’ll tell you which on the call.

What happens when the site goes down at 2am?

Monitoring catches it and a senior operator with context on your site responds — not a tier-one queue reading a script. What we deliberately do not do is quote you an uptime percentage: we have no SLA document to stand behind, and a number we cannot honour is worse than no number. Ask on the call what actually happened during the last incident on a site like yours, and we will tell you.

Can you migrate us from our current host?

Yes — that’s the first thing we do, with a zero-downtime cutover. The migration plan is written and approved by you before anything moves, and the whole first ship lands inside 30 days.

Are we locked in?

No. Your site, your domain, your content, documented infrastructure. If you leave, you get access and the runbook. We keep clients by being good at this, not by making leaving painful.

Do you host non-WordPress sites?

No. The whole practice — tooling, monitoring workflows, update discipline — is built around WordPress. Doing one platform well is the reason the price is $90 and not $900.
